So my latest story “i was a younger man then (now) (post hoc)” uses the time-traveler’s wife trope. This is a mini-primer for those unfamiliar with the premise.

It's based off of the novel "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger.

There are two parts: one is the time traveler (Paul, in this case) and the other is the time traveler’s “wife” (John Lennon, reluctantly, sarcastically). Usually, the trope runs that the time-traveler travels back in their own timeline OR they go back and forward in the "wife's" timeline, which is what happens in my story. This means they meet out of order before, during, and after the time in which they meet canonically.

Paul’s timeline is tangled with John’s (probably because of the MASSIVE KARMIC ENERGY), so he sporadically slips through the continuum and visits John in all times and all ages. This does and doesn’t change things because they are still the Beatles.

I wanted to write this story because I heard about the flaming pie and a couple other inexplicable things in the Beatles canon and I decided to try my hand at explaining them with this trope. Also it's a fun way to do character study and explore the way their relationship has changed through the years via John's speculation. I hope you enjoy!
